This policy describes what Hire Digital Media LLC, doing business as Dream Bidder ("Dream Bidder," "we," "us"), collects when you visit this site or play any of our games — Dream Bidder, Guess It, Choose It, and Vote It — and what we do with it.

Information We Collect

Information you give us directly

Pre-release signup: if you join our waitlist, the email address you enter is sent directly to our email marketing provider, Brevo, to send you launch updates.
Feedback form: if you use our feedback form to report a bug or send a suggestion, your message (and your name and email, if you choose to include them) is submitted through Netlify Forms and lands in our inbox.
Hosting a game: hosting is currently free for all games, and no payment information is collected to play. If we introduce paid hosting in the future, Stripe would collect your email address and payment details at that time to process the charge and send a receipt — we would never see or store your full card number, which is handled entirely by Stripe.
Display name: when you join or host a game, you enter a display name that other players in that game session can see.

Game session data

While a game is running, we temporarily store room codes, player display names, scores, and whatever gameplay data that specific game needs to keep everyone's screen in sync — for example, Dream Bidder's token balances and bid amounts, Guess It's answers, Choose It's picks, and Vote It's votes — using Netlify's storage infrastructure ("Netlify Blobs"). This data isn't tied to a real-world identity beyond whatever display name a player chose, and it isn't used for anything beyond running that game session.

Automatically collected information

Standard hosting logs (like IP address and browser type) are collected by our hosting provider, Netlify, as part of normal web server operation.
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which sends your device's IP address to Google as part of that request.
Analytics: we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site and games are used — for example, page views, which game was played, whether a game was completed or abandoned, how many people were in a room, and how many rounds a game had. This includes cookies or similar identifiers that Google sets on your device. This data is aggregated for our own use and isn't linked to a display name or the content of your gameplay. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles this data, and Google's opt-out tools if you'd like to limit it.

Cookies and local storage

Your browser's local storage remembers which room you're currently in, so your device can automatically reconnect to that game if your connection drops or the browser tab is backgrounded (common on mobile) — this is cleared when you leave a game normally.
Your browser's local storage also remembers whether you've dismissed our cookie notice, and would remember a hosting-access token if and when paid hosting is active.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies/identifiers as described above.
If you complete a purchase (only applicable if paid hosting is active), Stripe sets its own cookies on its own checkout page for fraud prevention — governed by Stripe's privacy policy, not this one.
Our waitlist and feedback forms submit directly to Brevo's and Netlify's servers respectively, which may set cookies on their domains as part of processing those submissions.

How We Use Information

To operate this site and run our games.
To understand how the site and games are used, including which games are popular and where players tend to drop off, via the analytics described above.
To process payments and send purchase receipts through Stripe, if and when paid hosting is active.
To respond to feedback and bug reports.
To send waitlist/launch emails, and — if you purchase hosting access when that's available — to add your email to a separate Brevo contact list for hosts, distinct from the waitlist. You can unsubscribe from either at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us.
To maintain, secure, and improve the Service.

How We Share Information

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the site work, each governed by their own privacy policy:

Google Analytics — site and game usage analytics.
Stripe — payment processing, if and when paid hosting is active.
Brevo — email delivery and contact management.
Netlify — website hosting, serverless functions, game data storage, and the feedback form.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Dream Bidder or others.

Data Retention

We keep game session data only as long as reasonably necessary to run and support gameplay. We keep waitlist, feedback, and purchase-related contact information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or as needed to comply with our legal and tax obligations (for example, payment records). Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics account settings.

Your Choices and Rights

Unsubscribe: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us at info@dreambidder.com.
Analytics opt-out: use a browser extension like Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, or your browser's tracking-protection settings.
Access or deletion: you can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, or to delete it, by emailing us. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
California residents: California law gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Our use of Google Analytics may be considered "sharing" under California law depending on its configuration; you can opt out using the tools above. You can exercise these rights using the contact information above.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we handle, including relying on providers like Stripe, Netlify, and Google who maintain their own security standards. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
